Yeah, that shield for Spurs is completely unnecessary. The only thing I can think is it's easier than manufacture jerseys with an easy shape for the crest. If that is the case, it's another recent example of Nike taking the lazy route for their soccer brand.
They did this with City as well as merchandise for college teams over the last few years....but it wasn't as noticeable on the City kit and worked fairly well. The shield on the Spurs kits makes the crest smaller and has just a ton of empty space on either side that just looks bad.

Yea I am pulling the trigger on that Gold Cup jersey. Pretty sweet!

Would be much better without the stars on the sleeves.

Are my eyes just bad, or are the stripes a different color than the sleeves?

It's possible. Not sure if it's the lighting or if they are different colors.

It's probably the Nike template. I like what I see here. I think I still prefer the Waldos, but I think I'll pull the trigger on these.

2 people actually like the stars?
Posted on 6/18/17 at 11:02 am to pvilleguru
Yup. I think it's a nice touch. Stars and Stripes forever.
I just wish it was Waldo stripes and they found another way to do the stars (obviously not a ton of them). I like seeing subtle/historical flag themes on kits for the national team.
But I am a guy that enjoys history.

I miss the GOAT Swansea kits. Adidas did a great job with them.

Those were nice. I am partial to the home from 2 years ago with the bronze accents

The sponsor logo kills this shirt for me.

It's a jersey? What else does it need aside from the crest and sponsor?
God forbid Nike doesn't feel the need to gay it up w/ brand striping all over the place or make it skin tight.
