I can't imagine anyone buying Rodriguez until he's come back to play and prove his fitness... I gotta imagine January is the soonest Brendan will be in for him...

I am pretty disappointed Southampton sold everyone. I really liked their squad.
Also, I am slightly bothered that this is an anchored sticky.

Falcao just added Bale, Isco and Khedira to his instagram. Rumours that he may be Chamartín bound.

I know a Chelsea fan can't really bring up the money subject with a straight face but the way Real spends money is almost becoming shameful.
Can't say I'm not a little jelly though.

At this point, really how good is Romelu? Everyone thought Chelsea should name him their number one striker but there are no other legitimate Champions League contenders who wanted him as their number 1 this summer, so why should he be at Chelsea? His first touch is pretty awful, his passing is not good, there is still A LOT he needs to add to his game in terms of technical ability. He's not ready to be any top Euro clubs number 1 imo. I think sitting behind Costa and learning from Drogba would be wildly beneficial for him this year, because he'd still see lots of minutes and the competition would be beneficial. I'm sure having him around would keep Hazard happy arse well. I just really don't think that he's ready to be the starting striker on a team that has Champions League ambitions. There's a reason no top Euro sides would add a player of his age for the price tag he's being offered for; he's not ready for that level.

don't disagree that his inconsistency is maddening, but he's a physical specimen that has a better goal-scoring record the past two seasons than most strikers out there. he's still much better as a sub, because he batters tired bodies, but he could be really great, potentially. i don't think you sell that type of potential, even for that price.
another point of circumstantial evidence is that Roberto had him for a season and worked with him up close and personal. he made lukaku his #1 target and was willing to place a large chunk of his transfer budget into acquiring lukaku.
i think it's a massive mistake by chelsea not to have him as their second striker. coming on after costa has battered a backline would have been quite the combo. they're so close to torres or drogba having to start which is awful. they really need another top striker.

Sky Sources understand that Belgium international striker Romelu Lukaku is set for a £24m switch to Everton from Chelsea. The 21-year-old would become the Toffees' record signing should the move go ahead, exceeding the £15m paid for Lukaku's compatriot Marouane Feillaini in 2008. Lukaku starred last season while on loan at Goodison Park, netting 16 times in all competitions, and his future has been the subject of speculation for some time, with Sky Bet suspending betting on his next club earlier this afternoon.
