that inflation has gone up around 25%

Yeah, it’s bad, inflation is cumulative. That 4.1 % in 2023 is on top of 8.0% in 2022, and 4.7 in 2021, and 1.2 % in 2020. So the last 3 years have been crushingly cumulative. So, even a 1-2% inflation rate this year, which is a low ball , Cinderella dream, will be devastating ..

because if the govt went by numbers that made sense they'd have to report that the economy is NOT doing great.

That’s why the way we report jobs numbers was changed under Obama. They obfuscate the truth by changing the way we calculate indicators, the definition of words, anything to keep from telling the truth. It’s fricking evil.

Yeah! He is trying to "save our democracy".
That is why he is inviting those prisoners/terrorists from other countries. Freedom Fighters?

As much as Biden has supercharged inflation with ridiculous spending, it was 2020 that kicked the shitshow off.

Yep, inflation ramped up in 2020. The root cause of inflation ramped up well before that.

The housing crash ramped up in 2008. The root cause of the housing crash ramped up in the early 1990s.

It’s so bizarre people credit or discredit presidents with things that they have very little effect on. Not just this issue and I’m not trying to praise or bash either dude, but the American public has an unfounded belief that presidents have more power than they actually do when they are kind of the weakest of the three branches of government when it comes to enacting change.

It isn't just Joe biden.

It is the policies of the left that cause the shitty economy- and Biden is at the helm.

Socialism will destroy any economy. Throw in DEI, wokeness, and other social justice bullshite and disaster happens

The issue is Trump was the President during a lot of socialism that also played a huge part in our inflationary issues.

He's still out there promoting socialism and leftist economic policies today.

This goes off the rails.....start with talking about Zillow and then bitch about groceries. In the case of Real Estate, no one to blame but all the people with a few bucks to spend during Covid who began bidding up the price of existing homes to ridiculous levels that pushed the first time home buyer further out. That led to pushing the price up on new construction and couple that with a construction lumber supply chain jam up in 2020 you get your ridiculous price increases and the couple the fact that everybody who was buying was buying with really cheap money. 3-4% rates on their mortgages....yeah 1700 sq ft houses were costing 300K+ in places like St Tammany on new construction.

We should look in the mirror hanging on the wall of the house we bid up for in 2020-2021 before we blame the government.

And without the release of Covid by China we could have probably maintained that 2% average inflation that Trump had for almost 4 years.

Sure, but the same applies to Biden.

This is a tomato/tomato scenario.

I'm not blaming him for anything. I'm just making sure he gets his credit.

This didn’t start with Biden.

Who was it that presided over increasing the amount of US currency by an unprecedented 38%? Trump.

Biden is just as culpable for continuing the COVID nonsense.

Neither one should hold office again, not anyone who voted for COVID relief and lockdowns.

Now it's time for you to say that there are no real conservatives anymore, to deflect from the leftist economics of Trump.

Gas has fluctuated anywhere between 15%-50% higher under Biden.

That pretty much raises the cost of everything and the inflation numbers are all bullshite.

The dude then rails on about potato chips and raising taxes.

Petro is about the only thing you can bring up for the difference, but it's impacts are marginal compared to the trillions (on top of our typical deficit, mind you) injected by both Biden and Trump. The cost of petro rising is what? 1% of that total addition? I imagine 1% is being generous.
