When bad shite happens to me, I cheer myself up by saying "it could be worse", and then thinking of worse things that didn't happen.

From their perspective... I guess they can be thankful that it's Russia and not the Taliban. Russia doesn't seem to be a culture that will go door to door, killing the men, raping the women and selling the kids off as sex slaves. They can be thankful that their quality of life probably won't change.

Basically... they should be thankful that they aren't Afghanistan.

This is why I said frick Ukraine from the beginning.

Here are the weapons, defend your own border. We should not get involved with fighting Russia.

The only criteria should be countries that it is in our interest to do so.

Also don’t get too sassy with your bigger, stronger neighbor if your only plan for keeping them out of your house is relying on other neighbors that live a few streets over and maybe aren’t as close a friend as you thought they were.

It sucks for Ukrainian people that don’t want to be under Russia’s thumb. Unfortunately for most of human history, if you can’t defend it, you lose it.
