Yes, he does take liberties with the truth. I can say that as a five time voter. He has nobody to push back and in the wee hours of the morning he comes to Tiger Droppings for entertainment.
It will be interesting the degree to which the world pushes back against Trump. We could find ourselves diplomatically isolated at some point.

Ukraine is "hostile" because they attempt to break away from Russia post-Cold War, like the other East bloc states have done.... Czech Republic, Estonia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria
Russia keeps breaking treaties negotiated between them and Ukraine... why wouldnt they be hostile

We are not negotiating with one side. We are the other side. The continuation of the war happens only if we continue to fund Ukraine.
The options are we negotiate an end to the war now, we continue throwing money at Ukraine to fund a war they will still lose and cost thousands more lives and billions more dollars, or we stop funding them and Russia wins much quicker.
The only chance Ukraine has of winning is if the US and/or European nations provide their troops to fight the war. I doubt the US and Europe are willing to fight WW3 for Ukraine. Especially since many European nations still depend on Russia for their energy needs.
