The word boy used to describe a man is usually pretty derogatory and vaguely racist.
But this is just another one in a long line of joe's racist comments. I guess the Left is just used to it?
Now, in a normal world with normal morals and less outrage - you're right, no one should be upset. But we've taught society to be upset about certain things. It's the hypocrisy that is the problem. Trump said this, in the midst of the "asian-hate" narrative that the media concocted and, there would be protests across the country over night.

This. He played in his first Masters as an amateur at the age of 18 or 19. Had this statement been made 10 years ago, OK.
And when Tiger won it at the age of 21 and former champion Zoeller called him a "boy" he was crucified in the press. He's made some other comments as well, but none the less, the use of the term "boy" to describe a black athlete resulted in a veritable sheet storm.
