YouTube permanently bans Dan Bongino

YouTube on Wednesday permanently banned conservative commentator Dan Bongino from the platform, saying he attempted to evade a previous suspension.
The Fox host uploaded a video to his main channel while his secondary channel, which primarily hosted short clips from his digital radio show, was actively suspended for violating YouTube’s COVID-19 misinformation policy.
“When a channel receives a strike, it is against our Terms of Service to post content or use another channel to circumvent the suspension,” a YouTube spokesperson told The Hill.
Both of Bongino’s channels have been removed and he will not be able to create a new one in the future, the platform said.
The YouTube spokesperson confirmed that attempts to make new channels “associated with his name” will also be denied.
Bongino had announced in a video posted earlier this week that he was already planning on leaving YouTube, and the nearly 900,000 subscribers on his main channel, for good.

I got a strike yesterday... I will probably be next.
Considering whether or not to stay on the platform myself. I've built up 15k subscribers, and it would be hard to walk away from the $500 a month or so in residual income I get from it... but they make it really hard these days.

Big government directing big tech to police and censor speech is technocratic fascism, supported wholeheartedly by people who call themselves liberal.

So, if a person or business owns 20 channels, and one is suspended, ALL of them are dead for the duration?

That's a content-neutral explanation.

They're just banning right wing extremists that nobody even listens to. Not like they're coming after reasonable mainstream conservative voices right? Just it over there and be quiet about it.

Why did the first channel get a strike

I listen/watch his podcast every single day. Don't miss a minute.
Never watched a second of it on YouTube.
YT can eat a bag of dicks.

I don't really care about anything Dan Bongino has to say, and haven't really been impressed by pretty much anything that's ever come out of his mouth, but the beauty of free speech is that he is free to say it and I'm free to ignore it and it only affects either of us if we allow it to.
I do think companies have a right to ban users/creators, but when its clearly being used so often against people of the same political spectrum there is a huge problem. I also don't think they are quite like a "utility" as people like Dan CringeShaw argue though.

COVID gave these entities an easy way to silence the opposition.

What are the best alternatives to YouTube?
