New Democrat meme "We lost but your candidates were crappy."

I was responding to a question asked directly of me.

There are good and bad candidates on both sides.

As I say, you seem a little high strung.

Joe Biden is the biggest goofball of all time. No worries bc he is a democrat. They get a free pass.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I pulled the lever for Cassidy. He's almost a prop candidate. His entire campaign platform was that his name isn't Mary Landrieu. It's disheartening that in such a climate like this, Cassidy is the best the LA GOP could put forward.

So is Pelosi, Reid, Boxer, Patti Murray, Frankin, etc., as was Landrieu

Well, I agree when it comes to some of those, not necessarily all. But I do think Pelosi and Reid are nutty.

I kinda think not.

Well stated. And it has not a single thing to do with sour grapes. It's obvious.

Haha. You said republicans produced them this time and democrats produce doozies at times. They produced Edwin Edwards this time.

I won't go this far, but I will admit that my vote was more against ML than it was for Cassidy.

Let's see what happens, he might 'grow' into the job.

Al Frankin may be the biggest embarrassment elected to the Senate in my lifetime. If you think somehow Cassidy is more "goofy" than Frankin, or Boxer, I'd have to disagree. At least you know the guy is bright.

Embarrassed that an educated doctor, hard working guy is now our senator?

I don't expect any Senator to be great. But I think Senator Cassidy will be better than Candidate Cassidy.

He just knew Mary had lost touch with Louisiana and alienated a lot of former supporters, so all he had to do to win was not commit a major gaffe. With that political landscape, he decided to lay low and play it safe.

He's obviously highly intelligent, and given his chosen career path before politics (spending a lot of time at EKL instead of choosing a more lucrative option), he isn't greedy and selfish.

He'll eventually go fully Washington like they all do, and forget what life is like in the real world, but in the short term he'll do OK.

Have you ever spoke on live TV, RC? Especially given a circumstance where every single oppositional, gloves-off/Chicago Politics, demagogic critic in the States will be *reinterpreting* your image and words against you?

You had best be thanking the Good Lord that Cassidy got in, and will be another vote against the rogue Obama...who is ripping this Nation asunder. Cassidy may not be leader; but he'll be a good soldier.

Not sure what you mean by "above it all". I truly am not particularly emotional about politics anymore. I don't really participate in the Democratic Party or the GOP. I think the extremes on both sides are full of shite. And I think Cassidy, at least as a candidate, was awful. Mary's campaign wasn't much better.

Because he's a doctor? Not so sure. I mean it's not like he's a lawyer.

I'm just saying that for somebody for whom this race was such a yawner, you sure seem to be posting a lot about it. And most of it appears to be critical of the winner. I'm not quite so certain Mary would've gotten the same treatment had the roles been reversed. Of course, I understand that you are in NO and there is a certain natural bias toward the "home team", as it were.

I'm not calling you a liar, understand; I just don't think you're really aware that you're doing it.
