Since national wealth per capita is normalized, tell me how it's "relative", imbecile.....

It's relative in the sense that the average Norwegian is "wealthy" compared to the average Somalian, but the average Norwegian is not what we would call "wealthy". Hence, "wealthy" is a relative term.

Now, back on point, taking relative wealth into consideration on immigration policy means that the already "wealthy" have greater opportunity than the poor. Republicans are typically all for equal opportunity, right?

I'll admit to being a hypocrite any day, but this is rich coming from the guy who brought up his own race as if it gives his opinion more weight than mine, while continually accusing others of projecting their own racism on others.

Because the orientals hate them.

And that's fine. Merit-based immigration policy is a good idea. The problem is thinking that a person's place of birth is indicative of merit.

You started by discussing "what people are upset about".

Are you really trying to make the case that those who are upset agree with merit-based immigration and simply disagree with the method of determining it (place of birth)?

You are out of touch with reality.

I get it, because women are incapable of logical and sound reasoning, right?

I'm so happy to learn that you conservatives are neither racist nor sexist as those damned liberals would have us believe.

people who worry about MONEY (i.e., Trump) see money.

Norway is the richest nation per capita on Earth. haiti and Somalia are the poorest.

It's hilarious to see someone who has no idea how national per capita wealth is normalized talking about relative "people"

fricking imbecile.

Holy shite, you are dumb. (That's twice)

People like yourself who are guided by their feelings are always confused.

The immigration policy of the United States should, first and foremost, benefit the United States. It's self evident that it benefits the immigrant given that they are choosing to come here.

Immigration should have absolutely zero to do with worrying about solving class issues. Immigration policy is supposed to be designed to benefit the nation being immigrated to. End of fricking story

Anyone who says otherwise is a fricking retard

Your retarded logic deincentivizes people from becoming/remaining wealthy.

You realize this, right?

Wait. You brought race into a conversation about immigration and are now upset that someone else used race in a counter argument? Wow.

The upsetting thing is that Trump very clearly insinuated that people who live in shithole countries are less worthy of becoming Americans than people from other places.

I don't think that's the clear insinuation at all. I think the insinuation is that people from underdeveloped countries probably don't have marketable skills that will benefit America. The result is that these people are more likely to become a drag on American resources. So Trump is looking out for America more than he is looking out for immigrants from other countries. Is that so wrong?

This. Liberals will always turn the logical/pragmatic into a political negative because they know their future is in bringing in government dependents who will inevitably vote for liberal progressive Democrats.

Well off people in other countries don’t want to come here because...

...They’re already well off.

Pretty much ALL of our ancestors came here from shithole countries. That’s why they came here.

You should go check out New Zealand's immigration policy and then get back to me because you clearly have no fricking idea what you're talking about

I mean not that you ever do have some idea what you're talking about

What the frick are you talking about? It refers to the average person. Not a specific fricking individual, but an average individual.

It's normalized by population. PER CAPITA. What are you driveling about? I mean, I know you're a troll, but you're just not making any goddamned sense.

I agree. We just disagree on the type of policy that would most benefit the US, I guess.

Trump doesn't seem to like the lottery style system and prefers merit based.

I'm guessing you disagree?
