This is why I say that the United States funds the welfare state to include national health care that exists in the EU nations.
They're a bunch of world wide fricking do nothings who nevertheless, have a LOT of ideas for what WE should do in the world.

When help is needed after a tsunami and the EU goes all virtue signaling, it is OUR perpetual navy that is offshore.

Well, who did that to them? Why is it U.S. responsibility to take up the slack? Who's preventing the U.K. from ramping their navy back up?
They aren't occupied by a foreign force, or under the terms of any treaties that limit the size of their military, so they're free to build as many ships as they'd like. In fact, if they don't want to build ships, their ally the U.S. will build ships and sell them to the U.K., so everybody gets something they want.
