We don’t disagree very often but on this topic I’m not following your logic. You say if someone is a born again Christian (the only Christian) they can align with the Democrat Party and not disqualify/lose their salvation. I technically agree but it’s my belief a born again Christian will not align with a political party that champions murdering the innocent.
My point is that Christianity doesn't offer a works-based righteousness. Righteousness--and reconciliation with God--comes from Christ's work on the cross alone, received by faith alone.

That means that there are true and actual Christians that are gross sinners, holding to seemingly contradictory and inconsistent ideological and political positions based on ignorance. There are a lot of Christians these days that are almost completely ignorant of the scriptures, and such ignorance influences their lives in various ways, including their political ideologies.

I agree that the Democrat party's platform is largely inconsistent with biblical Christianity, but I wouldn't go as far to judge the eternal state of others based on political affiliation. That's not our place. Our place is to call out inconsistencies and call sinners to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

being a Democrat via that silly document we signed when we were 18 versus SUPPORTING democrats via votes etc are two different things

Very good point. What I'm registered as, what anyone is registered as, has nothing to do with how I or anyone else votes.

But GASP, why don't you change your registration?
Hmmm, maybe we stay off the radar longer?

1. You also can’t be a Christian if you wear polyester, masturbate, or divorce. Those would be considered “inconv

Polyester= Can't be an orthodox Jew

Masturbate= both

Divorce= is fine for Jew. Divorce is only for adultery for a Christian

remarriage is forbidden for a Christian unless your spouse committed adultery.

There are six things the Lord hates,(A)
seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes,(B)
a lying tongue,(C)
hands that shed innocent blood,(D)
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,(E)
19 a false witness(F) who pours out lies(G)
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.(H)

God hates the policies of the democratic platform based on Proverbs 6:16-19

Can you be a Christian democrat and not support abortion or LGBTQ, but are a clean energy / help the poor nut?

Sure, kind of like a Jew in 1932 Germany who supported Hitler because of his economic policies.

How can a Christian condone genocide of the unborn

How come Christians didn't decide that they were against abortion until Republicans made abortion political issue before the 1980 election?

Were there some newly discovered Bible passages that signaled a chance of opinion was warranted?

Or was it just a re-interpretation of existing passages to justify something as earthly as politics?

The term unfaithfulness is more congruent to what idea was being expressed and is consistent with other Biblical passages. Unfaithfulness can certainly be adultery but things like abuse and abandonment I would believe falls into the category of justifiable divorce for Christians as well.

Guys, another Fed. Stop responding to them and think. Do not say, do, or be manipulated by these assclowns into doing something that will incriminate you and your fellow posters who have done nor want to do anything illegal.

Hey, look it's an ignorant poster side-stepping an issue.

Before the 1980 election, more Democrats than Republicans were pro-life. Then after 1980, Republicans mysteriously began to become more pro-life.

You got any theories on why that happened?

First off, you're a fricking idiot.

Christians have ALWAYS opposed legal abortion in large majority. If more Christians became Republicans because of Republican support of that issue, that's a logical shift.

Your assertion that Christian opposition to abortion is political in nature is something so stupid, only a brainlet Democrat fricktard could come up with it.

Congrats.

Assuming that Christian opinion on abortion was guided by the Bible, why did a shift occur in the years after the 1980 election?

Was there a revision of the Bible, or was there a re-interpretation of Bible passages that supported an anti-abortion viewpoint?
