That's great that they aren't scared.

I'm supporting their cause. Just charge them for defense and water and be done with them.

What's the beef if they are in such good financial shape?

I want them to be feliz!

I'm all for it. I would LOVE to see how fast their liberal utopia would fall flat and be begging to be let back in.

Seriously let them go. They hate America, they hate being part of this country, and they are delusional in believing they've had no impact on the Presidential elections in over a century when they have 55 frickING ELECTORAL VOTES.

This thread SHOULD end up with record upvotes.

After all.... it's something we should all agree on.

they currently get less than $1 back in federal taxes submitted. They will be just fine, now the states they subsidize would do quite poorly.

They should have put the Six Californias inititive on the ballot.

However, it won't ever happen.

lol is this true? Come on. I think the northern half would revolt against Las Angeles and the others who tried to do this. I don't think they would get the whole state would they? Well frick em let them go. They will just create another red state when California splits.

They funny thing about this whole "Calexit" nonsense is there are counties in California who want to secede from the state as well. So will we have a bunch of West Virginias on our hand where a state secedes from the Union and counties secede from the state?

I think this is what would happen. The state would split in two. The California baws certainly have a better arsenal than the libs, so they should be able to win their chunk.

I'm sure you're stupid enough to believe this.

I'm sure you also think the unemployment rate and how fast our debt is growing because they tell you so too.

Speaking of which, how far is California in debt ?

What are those assholes going to do for a military? Oh wait...

quote:

1. PEACE AND SECURITY The U.S. Government spends more on its military than the next several countries combined. Not only is California forced to subsidize this massive military budget with our taxes, but Californians are sent off to fight in wars that often do more to perpetuate terrorism than to abate it. The only reason terrorists might want to attack us is because we are part of the United States and are guilty by association. Not being a part of that country will make California a less likely target of retaliation by its enemies.

Guess they won't need one. Farewell assholes.

You've got me. I've got my issues with their approach towards business and there aggressive personal income taxes, but I only lived there for 6 months. Since I'm not a resident any longer, I've got no right to bitch. Fair point.

I wonder what the Cali will trade for on the International market. I am guessing it will trade on a par with the Burundian Franc.

Errr, unemployment rate is clearly documented and defined. The problem is that the gov't touts U3, when really what matters is U6. its 9.5% right now, and that seems about right to me.

The debt is exploding, and will continue to explode, especially as we "rebuild our military" and "invest in infrastructure" not to mention tax cuts.

by a shite ton. what is the debt per capita in louisiana? Do you know? Its about the same as california. The thing is california has a diversified economy, and will be able to survive on its own.

I think california leaving the US would be horrible....for the rest of us. Its a giant economy, and silicon valley is an engine for creativity and productivity. Losing it would be terrible for us. Just as losing texas would be terrible for us.

But california? they would economically be just fine. They would have other issues, namely a serious immigration issue of all the people moving there if they decide to exit.

This thing should die because A) California returns more money to the federal government than they take and B) California cannot make it on their own.

California belonging to the US is good for the USA overall. Both sides should be able to see that with a little logic.
