There has never been any comparison. There would not have been much of a comparison had there only been ONE fiery peaceful protest during that summer, let alone hundreds of them.
Making it a situation of "both sides do it" is just another example of the obvious double standard at play when scope and scale is ignored for partisan reasons.

And the people pushing that BS know it, both here and at the national level.
I've used this analogy before: Small town white cop watches white people drive 55 through his 35 mph downtown all day every day. Countless white people going 20 over, no problem. Black people start driving through downtown at 41 mph and every one of them gets a ticket. Mouth breathers point to the radar reading and say "They should get a ticket, they're speeding. This has nothing to do with other speeders."
I'd have a pretty damned good idea in that situation why the mouth breathers were saying what they were saying. I suspect most people would.

No, I seem to think both sides have tails of huge sizes differences.

The Right
No one is saying there is no far right, just that in comparison to what we see with our own eye affecting our daily lives, there is no comparison. This is because what used to be consider Far Left has shifted into the mainstream. Most of the cultural issues mainstream Democrats are now forced to defend are issues that would have been considered fringe far left ideas 20 minutes ago.
there is nothing comparable on The Right.
Now...because I'm the way I am, I'll concede that IF The Right ever obtained as much power across all areas of our life the way The Left has I'm 100% certain we'd be witnessing the Right's version of authoritarianism, with healthy dose of theocracy tossed in to boot. But that's my point. THAT NONSENSE, in the face of being nowhere near anything like that, is the driving force behind The Left at this point, as they parade around believing we're two seconds away form The Handmaid's Tale. The Left literally controls everything and because of that their fringe is now powerful and driving their side.
