Because up until now, our government has been ran by globalist cocksuckers only interested in funneling the money back to themselves and their family members and we've been too busy arguing about figs and flags to pay attention or give a shite.

I like to call it "political correctness influence" around the world would be my guess....looks like China does in a much more cost effective way though:
1. Pay much less than US to the actual organization
2. Pick your guy, dig up dirt on him and hold it over his head while also paying him directly, or indirectly whatever works
3. Get your guy into position to run said organization
4. Get all you want out of said organization at a steep discount compared to the US
