Well, we know the numerator. What’s the denominator? Quick google search shows about 12 bucks. So maybe 10% more than before.

A year ago he charged $16 a pound now its $17. Thats not 10%

I buy 5-pound bags of coffee beans and they have gone up about 5% over the last few years. Hardly a massive increase.

I showed my math and explained why I chose $11 for the numerator.

The price of coffee has gone up over 25% in the 10 months since Trump became president.

But the price of coffee went up over 39% in the 10 months prior to his term beginning.

So the rate of increase is going down.

Average coffee prices per pound:
April 2024: $2.22
January 2025: $3.10
39.64% increase

January 2025: $3.10
October 2025: $3.93
26.77% increase

Threads like this are amusing. The pro-tariff crowd is so determined to believe that tariffs haven’t increased prices, that they are now willfully ignoring basic facts.

Yes, those coffee numbers might be up significantly in general, but it has nothing to do with tariffs or orange man. It’s due to supply problems from a bad crop in Brazil.

I don't think this is the great win that you think it is

I don’t suppose you could tell me why?

It directly and incontrovertibly refutes that Trump has worsened coffee prices.

A significant increase over a ten month period is still a significant increase over a ten month period.

What happened the previous ten months doesn't change that fact. If anything it makes it even more ridiculous.

Lawd.

So you’re cheerleading a reduction in the rate of increase?

I guess you think that when Congress cuts the rate of growth in spending, there is an actual cut.

Or it's both

Tariffs just added to the price from the bad crop

You’re fricking crazy. The rate of increase is going down. You think Trump could take office and magically everything will just start going in reverse? Typical leftist logic.

I’m just showing that Trump didn’t cause the increase. It was going up sharper before he was president.

Tariffs have obviously not added to the price from the bad crop based on stats I showed that you dismissed.

Come on people. Set your bias aside and look at things objectively.

So you choose to believe that tariffs impacted coffee, and coffee alone, in such as substantial way more than the real world problem increasing coffee prices around the world and not just in America.
