WV Governor Justice to switch parties from Democrat to Republican

No link yet, will update when I can find one. This just popped up on my Facebook feed from Fox News.
He previously was a Republican and I'm surprised he ran as a Democrat given his extensive coal holdings and the Democrats dislike of fossil fuels in general.

The Democratic governor of West Virginia, Jim Justice, is expected to announce that he's switching parties Thursday night at a rally with President Trump, according to the New York Times.
The president promised a big announcement was coming at the West Virginia rally.

He's like sayin', man, you don't have to be a weather man to know which way the wind is blowin'...

Jim Justice. Any relation to Buford T. Justice?

As Regan once said, "trust but verify". Democrats are becoming Republicans because of TRUMP.

It's going to be fun trying to see Democrats spin that!

This is the guy who owns The Greenbrier, where the Saints held training camp a few times in recent memory. Last year I worked a project for a few months in a small Kentucky town a few miles across the WV state line. The fact Justice got tax subsidies to improve The Greenbrier for training camp was a hot button issue for his opponents.
Thought it was odd that some dude in WV was a big time Saints fan. Turns out he was drafted out of college by the Saints but never played due to injury.

He owns a ton of farmland in Clarendon County about 10 miles from where my mom grew up. My uncle who still lives there and is involved in farming says he's a nice guy.

He's one of the more interesting characters in politics.
In addition to his extensive coal holdings and his ownership of The Greenbrier, he is also the basketball coach for both the girl's and boy's teams at the high school near where he lives (and actually won one state title in the process).
Though he put his holdings in a blind trust, he continues to coach his teams during the season.
