Yep. Makes me think that Obama's Iran deal might have been more of an affront to the "swamp" than anything Trump has done in retrospect.

Saudi Arabia gets to blow up more of Yemen now.
You will have to trust me on this but their army is so fricked up (even with modern American equipment) they are scared to death to go into Yemen.

Yep. They tried to test out their infantry and SOF against the Houthis in mid 2015, and were massacred
legendary terrible is how I would describe Saudi ground forces.

The stories I've heard about their Air Force make this believable. Their officer corps is run in the old school European fashion- high ranking officers, fighter pilots, etc are almost exclusively aristocrats who basically purchased their billet.

Obama's Iran deal was an affront to all Americans in and out of the swamp. He literally sent them a pallet of money.

Well at least we're making money off the deal unlike Obama just giving billions to Iran.
what a pathetic way to justify this

Somewhere in Yemen a kid whose family or friends were killed by Saudi bombs with MADE IN USA stamped on them is growing up to become the next big terrorist in 10-20 years.
And when he does the same idiots who are so in the tank they can't see anything wrong with this will just shrug and blame it on the inborn savagery of Mussulmen.

It's such a fricked up accident of history that we're backing the Saudis and enemies with the Iranians when virtually all exisiting evidence suggests the Iranians are a far better potential partner for long-term peace and stability in the region (hell, if you want to go very long-term, the Persians will still be a major regional player when the oil's gone just like they have been for millenia, the Saudis will go back to running Mecca as the religious equivalent of a tourist trap).

Yep. High ranking anyone in the KSA army is a prince who purchased his billet. They have no NCO system to speak of. Hoarding information at the highest level for personal gain is the norm. Nobody knows how to maintain equipment, account for equipment, account for people, or organize meaningful training. KSA simply throws money at their military, and it would crumble without the support of the the US defense industry.

Whataboutism at its finest. Just like the USSR consistently did, and Russia does today.

Let's just give more money to the Salafists. That's what will help the Middle East.

9/11 wasn't so long ago. One of those countries had a lot of nationals involved. One didn't.

This is obviously horrendous public policy, but what are you gonna do? The MIC runs the government this isn't news to anyone. No point in complaining, just buy some defense stocks and thank Krishna you aren't some goat farmer in Syria who has to worry about getting killed by these things.

It's not an accident of history, it's an accident of geology. Saudi Arabia has the oil and the petrodollars our economy needs to survive.
