I mean...Trump acts pretty trashy. Not a secret. In fact, some of his trashiest moments have involved McCain. Everyone seems capable of being adults except for Trump and his loyalists. An adult takes responsibility for his/her behaviour. Zero sympathy for him or them.

McCain passed that bogus Steele dossier to the FBI and told them to investigate. He was leading the RINO charge to stop Trump and bashed him and his candicay from the jump.

McCain ain't perfect by any means. But as an American and statesman he is a far preferable model than Trump. If every POTUS going forward on the right or left is molded out of Trump this country is positively fricked.

I prefer politicians who don't get into bed with the enemy. Just looking at the roster his family assembled for his big send off, you can tell the man was a traitor to his party and to the conservative movement.

Oh I forgot to mention McCain's down vote on repeal of the ACA which hespent the previous four years campaigning on and promised he would do it.....down voted simply to stick it to Trump. We are stuck with this crap because McCain's petty feud with Trump...a feud McCain started. That will be McCain's political legacy.

If you view everyone outside of your political party as "the enemy" then you are "the enemy". Conservative politics shouldn't be bigger to you than America itself. That's what McCain understood and that's why everyone outside of petty Trump loyalists are united celebrating McCain's legacy.

You invested the thought and time to puke this ^^^^ garbage and conveniently left out a pertinent point. As "trashy" as Trump is the people he sees fit to trash are usually deserving of Trump's Trash Service.
McCain should be respected for wearing the uniform but he's no more of a hero than the thousands of other POW's that came back from war and simply went on with their lives. Why McCain was treated with such high honor after his death is at a minimum partially political, because McCain was a staunch "never Trumper" he was held in higher regard by the Swamp Dwellers, they figured it would be a good poke in the eye to the POTUS.

Another poster pointed out Bob Dole earlier.
Senator Dole, also a failed GOP Presidential candidate, gave every bit as much in service to this country as John McCain did. There is NO frickING WAY he gets this kind of treatment when he passes.
