I didn't say same skills. Of course people would have different skill sets. I'm talking about values instead and hearts. But in your profession, I understand your answer.

The most diverse nation is also the most prosperous nation---coincidence, no?

For now, but we are a young nation. We are getting weaker in my opinion as this so called diversity expands. Coincidence?

No, I don't want to live in a world like that. I would like to live in a world where the opposition is not stark-raving mad, though.

No. There needs to be views that run counter to your own. For example, let's say that in this world an idea or view was put forward that had long term negative consequences for the population. However, since everyone shares the exact same mindset, it takes root and spreads and ultimately harms society. Had there been opposing viewpoints, maybe it only affects a small part of the population or no one at all.

Well, even if a society started out sharing the same views 100% on all topics, it is sure that after time and a few generations, some of the offspring would deviate from the pack and change the thinking process anyway.

Most people who originally migrated here were in search of the American dream and embraced assimilation. Today many just seek the financial rewards with no desire to assimilate or embrace America.

We have a lot people living here that actually hate America and what it stands for, many of them are 2nd generation Americans.

Yes. Diversity with no desire to assimilate will be destructive long term.

Of course not, but recent events combined with a general desire to stifle discussion, especially on college campuses, has convinced me that the idea is far more prevalent in that political ideology, or should I say political religion.

I think opposing viewpoints is good for society in general. The conflict between the two is what spurs societies to grow and adapt over time. When there is no opposing voice or it's forced to be silent and only group think prevails, you get Middle East hell holes and inner city America.

Culturally we are not diverse at all. The US is culturally an Anglo/European nation. We speak English and we dress in Anglo fashion. An example of a culturally diverse nation is Malaysia. They are Native/Muslim; Chinese; Indian (from India). They don't get along well.
