Say we raised smoking, voting, guns, (kept alcohol) all to 21 years old. However, all military would be full citizens and could do all the above the minute they joined the military. Would you be ok with that?
So you expect a person to support and defend the Constitution at 18 but not exercise any rights under the Constitution at 18.
Non-starter.

No. Raising the legal age to buy a rifle will have no noticable effect on gun crime.

No it's a preposterous idea. How about 1st amendment? how about abortion? how about voting?

They need to create a test for people between the ages of 18-21 that determines a person's maturity level and mental illness level.
All schools should have trained people who carry a weapon or have a weapon under lock and key. Other teachers should at least have taser training and have access to tasers.

With the immaturity of today's youth, I'd go for 26 - especially for voting right - giving exemptions to military service.
If Congress has said they can hang onto their parent's insurance, they have already been legislated to be less than adults.
Certainly, as a group, they are too immature to have any important duty.
But, I'd be first in line to approve individual exceptions - owners of property, independently self sustaining life style, out of the college environment, honorable military service, demonstrable individual responsibility, etc. There could easily be a process for allowing mature and sane individuals to exercise adult responsibility, including voting.
But in today's environment, age along doesn't mean shite. whimpering snowflakes demanding safe spaces and spending their time in 'diversity studies' at a college they don't pay their own tuition for doesn't cut it. Keep these infants away from guns and voting booths.

Things I would like from my Federal Gooberment titled #1:
1.) a standard age that defines child.
2.) a standard age that defines teenager/adolescent.
3.) a standard age that defines adult.
4.) a standard cocktail for all gasoline to be used in the USA.
5.) a standard drivers license.
6.) a standard conceal carry license.

No. 18-20 year olds legally have the right to self preservation as do the rest of us.

No. If you want to change the age at which someone becomes an adult to 21, everything goes to 21. Including the age at which you can marry without parental permission, enlist in the military, etc.
Otherwise let's stop with this pretense that came about because the insurance company lobby wanted the drinking age raised to 21.

Immature 30 year olds? You’re right. Right here on TD.com. Plenty of them. And younger punks.

No we don't give an inch

Don't forget police, fire, and first responders too

no, but I would be ok with raising the age to 21 for purchase of an auto weapon. I would also be ok with a ban of Ar-rifles. I own 37 firearms and have absolutely no need for an AR.

Yes even tho it wont do anything
But I think it needs to be raised to 35 with how nutz these millenials are

I would take it if we add voter ID laws. Liberals would not take that deal because they would lose to many voters .

I was 17 when I entered the Army and I couldn't buy beer in Louisiana or anywhere else for that matter. Some states were 18 and some were 21. I was allowed to drink beer on post, however. As long as you're a soldier, you can drink alcohol on a military base.

I've always felt it was bullshite you could get killed in a far-off land but cannot have a beer when home. If you're old enough to die in combat, you're old enough to drink and own firearms IMO.

How about we just ban murder instead...

k, if you're old enough to be trusted with a $9 million tank, then you should be able to drink and buy a gun.
I guess that's analogous if you're ordered to drive the tank from New Orleans to Lafayette.
