Yeah, I can't stand Biden, but I don't think any of this is on him yet. When I saw the 2020 money supply chart spike from COVID relief, I figured there would be pain. So, I think most of this precedes Biden. But, I do think BBB would be pouring gasoline on the fire.

Gas prices. Everything stems from there.

You mean CRUDE prices. I work in the petrochem industry and almost EVERYTHING is made with it now. Makes a lot of sense to shut down our pipeline and then get boatloads of it from all over the globe sent here then put in trucks and barges?

Biden is an idiot but someone is making huge money off of these decisions. With BG getting his 10 point cut of course.

It is and it isn’t. I mean, just take a look at what him and his party are continually pushing. Much of this pressure is prospective.

Under Trump we exported more oil than we imported. That had not been done in 70 years before Trump.
Today, that's gone with Biden.

Supply and demand economics 101.

snip
The shortages are widespread, impacting produce and meat as well as packaged goods such as cereal. And they’re being reported nationwide. U.S. groceries typically have 5% to 10% of their items out of stock at any given time; right now, that unavailability rate is hovering around 15%, according to Consumer Brands Association President and CEO Geoff Freeman.

snip

Part of the scarcity consumers are seeing on store shelves is due to pandemic trends that never abated - and are exacerbated by omicron.

snip

And shipping remains delayed, impacting everything from imported foods to packaging that is printed overseas.

snip

As it has with staffing at hospitals, schools and offices, the omicron variant has taken a toll on food production lines.

snip

Freeman, of the Consumer Brands Association, says omicron-related disruptions could expand as the variant grips the Midwest, where many big packaged food companies like Kellogg Co. and General Mills Inc. have operations.

snip

“We went from a just-in-time inventory system to unprecedented demand on top of unprecedented demand,” he said. “We’re going to be playing with that whole inventory system for several years to come.”

This country is on a different track than the 60-70s style inflation.

Eh, no. It's worse than that. They don't calculate CPI the same way they did 40 years ago.

Use the 1980s calculation of CPI and we are at the highest since the 1940s
