There are three possibilities here, and only one seems at all likely:
1) he died of purely natural causes (very unlikely due to age and prior health records).
2) he ran afoul of a nonawakened backward philistine culture who expressed intolerance toward a representation of a sexual choice (not at all likely)
3) he recently received the clot shot (this is almost certainly what happened).
Occam's Razor is usually the sharpest tool in the medicine cabinet.

He didn’t die suddenly that is being misrepresented. He had complained about feeling really bad for days prior. Sounds like his a scary deal where you ignore what you don’t think is a big problem and it is actually something that needs to be addressed

So we think Qatar is going to go on a secret mission to poison a journalist infront of the world and risk everyone finding out? How does this benefit them?
If he was found stabbed to death in a gutter maybe I would believe it but there is no way the Qatar government is sanctioning a secret mission to poison a little known journalist. The risk is not worth the reward.

“He wasn’t sleeping well, and I asked him if he tried melatonin or anything like,” Scanlan said. “He said, ‘I just need to like relax for a bit.’”
