Dang, I hate being in agreement with you but that’s all I was thinking looking at those, all those finishes and wood stocks laying directly on concrete

The photographer's name is Gabriele Galimberti. He's from Italy.

quote:

It was 2005 when I fell in love with the United States. It happened on my first trip there.
I remember the day very well, it was a Monday in late January, I landed around 3.00 pm in Houston, Texas, and from there immediately drove about 150 miles to Austin, the state capital.
Those first three hours in the country left a lasting impression on me. An expanse of skyscrapers in the centre of one of the nation's largest cities, oil wells pumping in the middle of the desert, 10-lane highways loaded with giant cars and at least 15 gun shop signs standing either side of those highways. Since that day I've travelled to the States at least another twenty times, going back for work or to visit the many friends I’ve made over the years. Often I went just for the sake of seeing and living in new places. My love for the United States has never decreased. It has influenced my growth and I have made a large part of my past work there, taking thousands of photographs and collecting hundreds of stories of Americans. I can perhaps say that I know the United States and its people almost as well as I know my own country, Italy. Yet it still manages to amaze me.
As when I read that in the USA there are more private use weapons than there are people.
It was simply because of this curiosity that I walked into a gun shop in Kansas one day and began talking to some of the customers there.
“How many guns do you have at home?" I asked.
“I have over 50!" one of them answered.
Shortly after I was at his house, taking a portrait of him with his entire collection. At that moment I decided to journey across the country to photograph, interview and discover that part of America that loves guns.
My intention was to create a portrait of the weapons culture and of the love that a part of the American population has for firearms. My new book is the result of my research and my journey.

Hwy 290 the whole way, and green even in Summer. Silly rhetoric.

The photographer actually doesn't sound woke at all per his description about the book.

Regardless, I showed some of these photos to my daughter and she immediately pointed out the violation of gun safety 101 on this one.

No way I would every let someone photograph me with my cache and then post pictures.....not too smart.

And dude in the second pic has some illegal AR pistols. I’m not hating but you can’t have a Forward grip on a pistol only a VFG. He has a few with vertical grips which is a no no to ATF.

Well If you knew your movies as well. In red dawn the Cubans sailed around and linked up with the Russians to attack the west coast from the north and the eastern front was a nuclear war.

There are 1000s of folks with “arsenals” that just don’t see fit to have their business out in the public eye.

I used to work with an old head conductor that had so much ammo in his basement the local FD would have crapped their pants if they knew.

From a strictly financial perspective the value of most of these collections as likely outperformed most conventional investments over the last decade with the added benefit of being very easy to convert to cash.

He has a short barrelled PS90. I'm jealous.

I need to step up my game.
