Wisconsin Republican hiring retired officers, attorney to investigate election

The highest-ranking Republican in Wisconsin's state House has hired retired police officers and an attorney to investigate the 2020 presidential election.
Rep. Robin Vos (R), the Wisconsin state assembly speaker, revealed to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Wednesday that he was hiring three former law enforcement officers and an attorney to probe aspects of the state’s election vote.
No evidence has surfaced of widespread fraud that would have affected the election, and critics in both parties have argued that the investigations risk eroding trusts in elections nationwide.
Vos told the Journal Sentinel that the investigators will receive a broad directive to spend three months probing all tips on the election, and that they will then follow up on the ones that are most credible.
The team will be permitted to investigate claims of double voting, and to analyze how clerks fixed absentee ballot credentials, according to the Sentinel Journal.
Vos said he expects the team to file a report of its findings to him by the fall. He told the newspaper that the aim of the investigation is to identify laws that should be changed, rather than searching for people who are believed to have violated the law.
He told the Journal Sentinel that he hopes the investigators can get to the bottom of matters that Republicans have unsuccessfully brought up in court, including how the largest cities in the state used more than $6 million in grants from a private group to run their election. LINK

Remember that 130k vote drop that went straight to Biden at 2am? and They still only "won" the state by 20k votes...
Wisconsin needs to be investigated; Trump was killing it in that state until that one-sided vote drop

I don't get this argument. If it is found that shite went down then shouldn't trust be eroded??

The only people that trust elections right now are those that hate this country.

I hope one of the police officers is the guy who headed up Milwaukee’s voter fraud investigation task force until he was fired.

What they found was chilling: Members of Democrat John Kerry’s presidential campaign organized a massive effort to take advantage of Wisconsin’s same-day voter registration and fraudulently register thousands of fake voters. In a 67-page report, Sandvick’s team outlined what he called an "illegal organized attempt to influence the outcome of (the 2004) election in the state of Wisconsin."
They found that as many as “5,300 more votes were counted in Milwaukee than the number of voters recorded as having cast ballots. “Absentee ballots were cast by people living elsewhere; ineligible felons not only voted but worked at the polls; transient college students cast improper votes; and homeless voters possibly voted more than once,” The Wall Street Journal reported.
“The report found that in 2004 a total of 1,305 ‘same day’ voters gave information that was declared ‘un-enterable’ or invalid by election officials.” Because Wisconsin law provided that same-day registrants who didn’t have photo ID only had to have another person vouch for them, Kerry campaign workers had "other staff members who were registered voters vouch for them by corroborating their residency."

“Trust” was completely eroded when AZ was called prematurely and the rest of the election was paused.
These events were unprecedented and Americans deserve and demand to know that truth behind them.
Yet these elected officials argue over whether or not there should even be an INVESTIGATION?!?!?
No conflict of interest here...

Someone explain to me why double checking to make sure our elections are fair and accurate would erode trust in them? Would it not do the exact opposite?
Lying fricks.

It is a totally screwed up argument.
How could an audit that would find and fix problems possibly make an election system less credible?
It would only lead to improvements and transparency.

Based on their concerns, it would appear they know an audit/investigation will turn up some questionable findings (if not flat out fraud). Which is why the concern that it could lead to eroding trust nationwide

Sounds like a great deterrent for future elections
