Family blames race of course

A black man was shot a killed by a Wisconsin police officer Thursday after authorities say he chased a woman with a pair of knives and then advanced on the officer.

Other than this he was peaceful and the officer was clearly racist

Poor parenting.
They should have told him, never tale a knife to a gunfight.

I’m sure he was an aspiring rapper set to start college in the fall.

No, that would have been because he was trying to stab a woman when police were called, refused a command to put the knife down, and charged the cop with clear intent to use it.

Why do I have a sneaking suspicion that the part which I bolded will be conveniently swept under the rug?

Anybody?

Seems to me that using a gun against a knife wielder is overkill. Too much force. The officer had no right to use that much force against a man wielding a knife. He should be charged murder.

Steadman’s cheddar says the use of force has to be proportional.

Officer should have retreated to a store where he could arm himself with a knife or set an appointment with the knife guy to come back and have an appropriately even contest.

Officers should now carry some sort of bladed weapon on them at all times. Much like Steadman's, I'd prefer they carry a small little pocket knife, mabye a Case peanut or something similar.

That’s legit. Maximum effective range with a knife is 21 feet of less. Meaning if you charge with a knife your getting shot.
