Do the Puerto Ricans pay U.S. taxes like everyone else or do they just get handouts?

I love me some Puerto Rican People. Awesome fun people. Great soldiers. Hot women. When they want in, I'm down. Unless my political Party demands otherwise. Then I hate those swarthy bastards and all that Mexican they speak.

I don't see them ever voting to join. Why buy the cow when you are getting the milk for free.

Puerto Rico has the perfect situation right now. There is no reason for them to be independent or a US state.

The big problem for P.R. is that it is an economic disaster with little prospect for real investment. Like many Carribean islands, the population is just too small to support any real industry, unlike many Latin American nations.

when they want to be. They don't want to be a state because they'd have to pay income tax. They already are eligible for most welfare benefits, why would they want to wreck a good thing?

The amount of people that would get on government assistance would be disastrous. I love PR, but it's still pretty poor.

Two incontestable Senate seats for the Democrats.

I hope not.

PR is on the verge of economic catastrophe. They are borrowing money just to meet interest payments on current loans.

They'd be a perfect fit.

Puerto Rico is fricked up as a soup sandwich....there is some FANTASTIC bill fishing down there, however. It is a great place to visit but a horrible place to live from what I have seen...unless you have loads of money and then it is about as good as life gets....

There have been more granders caught off the Azores but the number of near granders caught off the wall in Puerto Rico is incredible and the fishing is much more affordable....pretty easy to take a boat to Purto Rico compared to the Azores also....it is pretty easy to sialnd hop the Indies down to Purto Rico but traveling to the Azores is not for the faint of heart. There are those that do it but I ain't going to be one of them...unless of course I get the chance....
