So what is supposed to happen to new York? Are you fricking stupid? All 1st world countries have enormous cities. Should we just vacate Manhattan?

Other huge cities in Korea and Japan are doing fine with even more mass transit. If they just wear masks and practice better hygiene in general they would probably be fine. Also, tourists are far more responsible for bringing this here than immigrants. Compare the number of people entering our country in a given month as tourists to the number who are immigrating. It's something like a 75x difference, at least.

edit: And that's not even considering all the Americans who visit other countries and then return here with it.
