Why weren't the Dems this adamantly opposed to Gorsuch?

Just trying to figure out the end game here. Gorsuch seemed like a cake walk...now they've released the hounds of hell against Kavanaugh.

They realize SCOTUS control is about to slip away, and since RBG is on her last legs, they'll never have the opportunity to shape the Court again in their lifetimes.

It’s politics as usual. Gorsuch replaced a very Conservative judge. Kavenaugh would be much more Conservative than who he is replacing which would change the perceived balance of the court.
They are fighting tooth and nail because their policies are not popular and they need the courts to force social policy changes for them and they won’t be able to do that with a very Conservative SCOTUS.

They were fine with him having one appointment but they are panicked with two and maybe 3 if RBG taps out. The democrats are pieces of shite human beings that frick up everything they touch. No way a reasonable human being can vote for this current Democratic Party.

Pure desperation. Remember, they govern from the Courts. If they don’t control the courts they will be in the wilderness for the rest of their lives.Thats why it’s imperative not only to ram this through with unapologetic Machiavellian gusto, but to taunt the frick out of them in the process.
