I have always looked at term limits like most of society looks at the id to vote issue. There is no logical reason to object to it.
Without a long-term career at stake, politicians lose the main incentive to perform well, reelection pressure disappears, so they have little reason to prioritize voters over personal gain in their final terms. Career politicians may have flaws, but the ongoing need to win reelection is the correct incentive. Remove that, and you replace accountability with a short-term mindset that benefits special interests more than the public. Bottom line: term limits won’t fix Congress, they’ll probably make the corruption and laziness worse. I would focus on age limits as a quasi term limit, just to prevent some of what we are seeing.

Age shouldn't have anything to do with this. You're either intelligent and "with it" or you're not.

Nah. For the vast majority of people, cognitive decline is the norm. You’re “with it” until you’re not. And the older you get, the closer you are to slipping.

Anecdotal and again, not the norm. This thinking will get us another batch of Pelosi, McConnell, Nader, and all the other fossils sleeping thru votes.

Well some would argue that we already have term limits because we can just simply vote out any politician we think may be to old every 2-4-years. I would like to see it actually put into law though.

Everyone wants term limits for the other 434 representatives and the other 98 senators, but not the guys who keep bringing pork back to their district.

Not true.

All of them...every single one...limit them.

I'd make it closer to 100%, but yes!

And age limits. No more 80 year old office holders in our Federal Government.

President Trump highly exaggerated that number, like he does most things.

We need an MSM that does not get protections for its opinions. It either reports the truth or it is not protected.
