Qatar in now "Cutter"
That’s always been the pronunciation, and a you problem.

Kiev in now "Keev"
It’s not. Once again, us using the Russian instead of Ukrainian spelling historically is an us problem. And it’s still not KEEV. It’s KEY(if)

Seems like the latter had just always been the accepted pronunciation for ENGLISH SPEAKERS. Why isn’t everyone now saying FrAHHnce?
Because there’s an ongoing situation that may have led to Ukraine pushing their domestic pronunciation and spelling as opposed to the Russian one.
I hereby demand that everyone refer to Bratislava as Pressburg because damnit that’s what grandpappy’s geography teacher taught him in 1940.

Why the Frick does ESPN spell Turkey Türkiye
The same reason that the MSM refers to Kiev now as Kyiv.
So us US simpletons can get enlightened I suppose. While names of countries/cities are not pushed by said MSM such as Deutschland and Napoli.

Attention leftcucks. This is the proper way to write the name of the country at war with Russia. frick that offensive anglicized “Ukraine” bullshite:

I think we should nationally use the name the country uses. We are the USA, not the EEUU(Mexico) Japan is Nippon. Finland is Suomi.
Germany is Deutchland. I don't know why we translate some names and not others.

It's been funny hearing Turkey, Tukeyay, and some that just say Turkay.
People around that region pronounce it “Tor-key-uh”
