Governments could do that, Gumbo, but they're choosing not to because they fear the consequences.

Oh you know TigerDoc supports Newsom’s “strike teams” harassing people on the beach

Please explain these forced social distancing measures.
There is no scientific basis for this novel social distancing.

The Texas Medical Center sounded the alarms for week then almost instantly backtracked after Abbott shut down elective procedures.
This is hilarious.

There are a dozen plans on the shelf. Heritage Foundation, Paul Romer's, etc. As far as forcing social distancing, fines and shaming would be the limit unless we're talking known-positive people with active symptoms in which case you could have quarantine.

Harris County peaked 3 weeks ago. Where do they see that there is an uptick in cases???
It’s not cases unless it’s cases.
It’s hospitalizations. Unless they’re going down.
Then it might be cases.
Unless those are going down.
Then it’s not enough testing.

Still not at 400 deaths in Harris County. Only 650 total for a region of 7 million people.

Social distancing how? Shutdowns? Again, I’m asking you to clarify.

So hospitalizations will be going down shortly is what you’re saying?

Either our hospitals in Harris County are the masters of Covid handling or they admitted people who would’ve recovered at home.

If you had full control, what would you do?
Masks would be optional. If I mandated it I wouldn't put a fricking penalty of $1000 fine or jail time.
I wouldn't be a hypocrite saying you can protest but not attend religious services. It would be the same standard.
If positive cases are rising and weeks later the death rate is not and it's getting lower then why would I continue to shut down businesses?
This virus isn't going anywhere.
I'd also 100% open all schools. Zero question. This isn't effecting children or young people at all.

Are you admitting you are Tigerdoc? Or just dumb as frick like tigerdoc?
But YOU insulting the intelligence of Doc is a bit like Herve Villechaize arguing that Shaq is short.

St. Louis has 725 deaths with 1.3M population. No one other than the local emergency coalition ever pretended we were in crisis.

Just so we’re clear, Italy isn’t testing asymptomatic patients.
If the US wasn’t testing asymptomatic patients, you’d lose your mind. Italy isn’t. But you’re holding them up as a model of testing. And championing their results from a process you don’t even agree with. You’re a gaslighter and an idiot.

Has Italy or Europe even opened up their economy yet like we have in the states?

We're not going to have effective state responses without an effective national response.
What the hell does this even mean? What specifically from the task force guidelines are you upset about?
While I will not argue that masks should reduce transmission it appears there are some assumptions on results that are probably based on impractical execution. I think we can see some normal situations with a broad bush mandate that are just illogical on reflection and ultimately undermine messaging.
I believe as was the focus since the initial task force briefings, treat this as excellent execution of normal hygiene practices we have preached about related to the flu for years. IMO everything was screwed up by the sensational media and groups dismissing the virus in regards to the riots. That destroyed messaging and the media and health organizations should be ashamed of themselves.
