I find it humorously ironic that just two short years ago Manafort and cohorts were chanting "Lock her up".

Even then, if his the probability of pardon is less than 100% and aren't any less likely if he gets caught obstructing but the probability of getting off if not caught increases them the incentive would be to obstruct.
Regardless, since Trump is unpredictable, Manafort's basis for his behavior is only more difficult to infer, which was already almost impossible based on this alone.

By that logic, then there is also no evidence of all of those murders or bunch of other criminal acts the Clinton’s are accused of, with an even stronger level of “no evidence” since it was relayed to a Clinton investigation.

Hey I here you. SDVTiger is the one who said we learned from the IG report yesterday that the Russia investigation is a witch-hunt. The only reason I knew he was wrong is because he was totally wrong

Irrational freakout is my best guess, but dunno. Maybe trying to preserve his property by trying to get exonerated (would he forfeit it with a pardon, as it can be seen as an admission of guilt?).

Heard Rush say today there are no witnesses that were tampered with. Should be singular. He said Manafort is charged with tampering over a single 1 minute 27 second phone call.
