Listen to yourself. We werent allowed in a peace negotiation that would have committed US troops to the defense of Ukraine? But we are going to keep sending checks until this escalates into something extremely bad for everyone. How retarded of a world leader do you have to be to accept that without challenge?
Oh wait.

The cold war was not a huge victory.
We spent ourselves into gigantic debt. We left the founding principles of the country. Liberty took a backseat to security. I could go on and on about why it was an abject failure. The USSR was going bankrupt regardless because economically speaking communism isn't sustainable.
Your idea of winning is different than mine.

That's literally why they scuttled the deal.

Your idea of winning requires you to believe that unfettered USSR expansion would have led to a similar result.
It would eventually collapse, but when? 2050? 2100?

I think you're confusing the Cold War with post-9/11 era.

So you don't really know much about this do you? It would have collapsed basically the same time. Of all the forms of communism, Stalinism is economically the worse.
I guess you've never thought about it, people told you we won and you just believed them. Think about it now, How is less liberty and less money a win? We gained nothing but a gigantic military industrial complex that is on the verge of starting WW3

Without Reagan/Thatcher/JPII (and even Gorbachev) putting the screws in, the USSR exists for at least another 20 years.

To OP:
-It gives the US ability to run biolabs without having to abide by international law
-It is easy to run corrupt money-making schemes with politician's families ifyou have a pro-US/NATO govt. That's why we did the 2014 coup. Obama appointee Nuland said, "F the EU" after the coup.

quote:Because Ukraine peacefully gave up/ dismantled the world's 3rd largest nuclear stockpile. Many pointed at U.S. cities .
But I think I missed why it’s in our nations interest to support Ukraine
The US , UK & Russia guaranteed their Independence & Sovereignty. A Thuggish Russian regime has reneged on the Budapest Memorandum. Thankfully the US & UK especially are simply honoring their signed commitments to Ukraine.

Who says it is the best interest of this our country?
Posted on 10/5/22 at 7:52 pm to BigJim
Definitely. We invaded the frick out of majority brown countries and used them as a playground for missiles.

That's the real reason. Benefits.
