I think y'all get DACA if:

1. Chain migration is ended.
2. Lottery system is abandoned.
3. Wall.

Real simple.
I'd be fine with that

It's pretty simple.

Bingo

The danger of the Wall is that cartels will be inclined to operate on both sides of the border making border towns far more dangerous.

Drug laws do not work, and like the drug war the Wall will have dangerous unintended consequences

I'm pretty sure there's an earmark in there that Sessions is the first to get thrown over the wall & we legalize pot.

I'll have to find the section it's in

DACA was always going to get done by mid Feb when it expires.

Maybe by then SCOTUS can rule on the constitutionality of Obama's pen and phone rulings? DACA? CACA DE VACA.

The Dems folded. Period. The feeling after this Shutdown is NOTHING like those before.

ETA, McConnell did promise a debate on Immigration Reform/DACA...which will include Amendments. Enter funding the Wall. Trump is not going to budge on this because He can't. He saw what happened down in Ga. with Strange, and he knows that if He abandons the Policy/Candidates which He promised to serve...the Right will drop Him in a NY second.

The jig is up. Patriotic Americans in the Hinterlands understand the Dems political MO. I.e., DROP Americans and replace those votes with Immigrants who will vote Dem. They proved whom the serve in the last Shutdown. There is no way to spin the obvious; only the delusional will buy this. And with Trump having branded FAKE NEWS as fake...the die is cast.

In the interim toward those negotiations, the Dreamers need to be DEFINED. Age, criminal or no record, Welfare subsidization, employed or no, voter fraud, etc. That should begin asap.

Red line in the sand. Immigration Reform for the MidTerms.

This is why this board is such a circle jerk. 24 hours ago it was..... .."Shumer is such an idiot for shutting it down", "what a bad decision that will doom democrats" *they make a deal* "he caved! he caved! MAGA!" "Now we REALLY got them where we want them!"

Huh? How does that make any sense?

Yeah...he was an idiot. Yeah..he lost and now looks like a fool to many, many more Americans.

Yeah...repubs really do have dems in a tough spot.

Does everything have to be so fricking dramatic?

Have the wall, end chain migration, give amnesty to these poor bastards making a living, and be done with it.

Here is the kicker

The Dims will have to fight for illegal immigrants during Black History Month

The CBC will be like a dog in a hubcap factory.

They've already caved

How is it that they caved?

They still have DACA and the Republicans don't have the "we have plenty of time until March 5th to do DACA" line that they were using on this go round.

The Democrats can more legitimately say they have to get DACA done now.

Repubs were never going to threaten CHIP so that's a retarded talking point.

If Republicans cared about funding CHIP, it would have been funded BEFORE they let it lapse for 4 months. Democrats have been pushing for CHIP for months now. McConnell promised Susan Collins to address CHIP before the end 2017 in order to get her vote on the tax bill and then screwed her over.

Republicans used CHIP as leverage to get Democrats to agree to a CR without addressing DACA first. Now CHIP is no longer a point of leverage. In three weeks, if McConnell breaks his promise about immigration compromise, or if Ryan blocks it in the house, or if Trump vetos it, there will be another shutdown. They will try to stir up anti-Democrat sentiment by claiming the shutdown is anti-military, but that won't be very effective considering Democrats have been pushing for legislation that would ensure military pay continues during a shutdown and McConnell has been blocking it.

Exactly. Can someone explain why there are any "non essential employees" that we are paying their salaries, benefits and pensions??

You know how much they hate the idea of the wall, you're going to have to give them something meaningful for them to do it(or go nuclear, which is bad for everyone).

Ooorrrrr make them keep exposing themselves as the anti American opportunists that they are. Make them reaaally stink themselves up by letting people see what they actually stand for, and wait for the outcome of the midterms.

The democrats meltdown post election is the most entertaining thing I've seen. I like to indulge a bit

However the fact I don't fear trump doesn't mean I like him

I got called a liberal during conservatives post Obama election melt.
