That isn’t the gotcha you think it is.

Because the communist religion (and I mean that literally) doesn’t believe in objective truth, it’s only narrative. They think that the narrative of history is the battle ground to bring about the utopian vision of the end of history.

So, the communists took over the school system and infiltrated all of the various institutions with any authority, at first slowly and then more quickly.

They choose not to teach anything critical of their movement. That’s the truth and it’s that simple.

The irony of it is nobody on the American right is actually a fascist. The left is full of avowed socialists, and the mainstream left is marching in that direction with every election cycle.

Those kooks are so far left they thing the moderate version of the Republican party is "Far right."

It kinda is.

I’m not saying that there isn’t authoritarianism on the right, but the right/left paradigm has some serious limitations as an explicative model.

But state control of the means and direction of production is a pretty elemental ingredient of socialism.

Russia is trying to finish the job right now and the poliboard is cheering them on. I don't see many self described socialists or communists over there. OP's post seems a little strawman-ish.

Wait so Antifa which stands for anti fascist is fascist because reasons, but the NAZIs have to be socialists because they say they are? Man that is some backwards arse logic

And that is some shallow arse logic performed with simplistic word games. Very progressive of you.

No, but it is an inherently flawed ideology that relies on the notion that the people in charge will not be selfish and will not become corrupt which it always has which leads to a dictatorship.

I, for one, think it's pretty hard to over-propagandize the holocaust

How so? His logic is literally NAZIs are socialist simply because they have the word in their name. By that logic Antifa cannot be socialist. Anyone with a simple understanding political ideologies would understand why the NAZIs were considered fascists.

Also, it's pretty rich when the left tries to accuse the right of fascism, given the actions of ANTIFA, the expose' of government colluding with private businesses and corporations to suppress conservative voices. That is the hallmark of fascism.

I believe the Hallmark of fascism is the blending of nationalism, the implementation of a central dictator controlling government, and a true suspension of critique and dissent applied to it's cutizens. I don't believe what you described demonstrates fascism.

Eddie Izzard covered this years ago.

Stalin and Mao killed their own mostly.

Hitler tried to kill other people and we just can't allow that

And anyone with a more complete understanding of political ideologies would understand why socialism and fascism aren’t mutually exclusive.

When people talk about Antifa they’re mostly talking about the black blocs which are the ones that cause the chaos. A lot of them aren’t even socialists or communists. There’s a lot of anarchists and variations of anarcho-communists and anarcho-capitalists. Obviously don’t agree with their views or methods but calling them fascists is objectively false

Communists killed their own and kept it in their borders. Nazis and Japanese carried out hostile takeovers of other countries and targeted other groups for extermination. That's why they get more press than the communists.

In 1932 there was virtually no seed grain left and the Ukrainian local government asked Stalin for grain assistance. Moreover, Ukraine asked the Red Cross for help and while Stalin initially admitted that there was a large famine in the works, Stalin still demanded the wheat to be collected and relocated to the rest of the USSR. Stalin was actively trying to punish Ukrainians for they refusal to cooperate with collectivization, the massive protests in 1930s or he didn’t care that millions would eventually die horrible deaths.

Communism is truly fricking evil.

It's at least as much an Authoritarian Russian thing as it is a communist thing. Putin has been reviving the veneration of Stalin for several years now and doing a pretty good Stalin impersonation himself. And the people of Russia have gone along with it.

I learned about all that in high school, but it was AP. Generally though, the extent of modern international history taught at American public schools rarely ventures outside of Western Europe.
