that's a remarkably accurate analogy.

Socialism is one of those things that sounds great on paper, but cannot be put into practice. Socialism will never overcome man's natural desire to be greedy. It is in man's nature not to be fair.

Socialism looks great on paper or in theory but its just that, a theory and it dosnt work! The socialist just believe that the other failed socialist didnt know what they were doing and that they can do it better. The result, is the exact same and it only equals failure.

It's not for lack of trying. To refer back to SFP's point, in order to get to Marxist Communism, you have to pass through Marxist Socialism which requires massive control and oppression on the part of an all encompassing government. Two things happen at this stage - first, the government and the population degenerates rather than progresses. Second, the government, in an attempt to stop the degeneration, absorbs more power and becomes more radical. Eventually, the system collapses.

What you label as greed, I label as a desire to excel. Greed doesn't make sense in this scenario because we know that capital is not finite. Greed implies that someone is taking from another to give to himself. But because capital is forever expanding, there is not greed but rather the desire to create more capital.

I'm sure you know this, but social welfare and true socialism are not the same thing. We have a mixed economy that is built on capitalism in the sense that ownership and production are mostly private. Most Americans, including Democrats, do not favor true socialism.

You are absolutly right.
I was thinking more of the powers that be, though, who use force in order to maintain their high status and power in society. They make everyone else's lives miserable. In theory, they should be equals, but are obviously not.

1 of 2 reasons. Either:
1.) Their feelings hurt and socialism gives them the sense of fairness and equality
2.) They know it doesn't work, but see it as a means to an end.

yeah getting to socialism is basically impossible and that's why we've never seen "real socialism"

1. It is an effective materialistic, eschatalogical religion for those who deny the validity of existing revealed or mystical religions
2. It plays upon a very normal human emotion of fairness/justice with misappropriated explanations of inequality or lack of parity

Those who advocate for socialism are 99.999999% of the time just envious butthurt losers who want everything handed to them. The other .00000001% are Bernie Sanders

Because deep down they know they are losers and see no other way for themselves to acquire all the material things they want.

You don't have to convince me that a lot of Americans are lazy and want free shite. But let's call a spade a spade. Wanting free shite and wanting a socialist state are not the same thing.

Yes. Truly free shite for a subset of the population requires a market economy with a largesse of capital to distribute.

depending on your class position, it's basically the same thing

Because they're lazy people with no drive who want to consume from society without contributing.

But wanting free shite from people who take shite from those who produce shite because you don't have enough shite to be satisfied, is the same as wanting a socialist state.
