Why do police allow ANTIFA to bring weapons to protest?

Many of them disguise them as sign sticks.
Why do they not separate them more? Like by miles, not blocks or what not? Don't let the the groups of thugs get together, wouldn't that greatly lessen tension?
Let the racist asshats have their protest... nobody is paying attention to them anyways. Until, well, the Anitifa asshats show up. Then everyone is paying attention to them.

because they want the conservatives to break out the NRA cards and show up with guns and start firing. Then the media gets their headlines and glory and the left gets to win elections while seeing violence from the right and their guns...and maybe an excuse to take our guns.

I know carrying baseball bats, knives and for that matter guns are not illegal however when you see a mob of people carrying them like weapons the police should treat them accordingly...like keeping them from destroying private property and injuring people they don't like.

Bigger question. Why is every politician, including the president silent about this group? I've yet to hear one word uttered by a politician on any level that has called this group out by name. Why are they all acting as if ANTIFA does not exist or is not showing up again and again creating havoc?

Every one wants peaceful protest. Baseball bats, brass knuckles, knives, bricks and covered faces does not exude peaceful images.
Maybe "allow" is the wrong question. Maybe the police should cordon them off form other people if they show up like they are ready for a brawl?
