I could care less what Matt Damon or Meryl Streep etc have to say. They are millionaires who have no clue or reality how most Americans who work 9-5 and earn $40-125k a year live

They do have a peculiar connection to people earning less than 40k though.

The crappy part is that they actually do have influence over the weak minded individuals who worship them.

Advertising works, you aren't immune.

Never forget that.

Remember when Hillary had those rallies with Beyonce and Jay Z and a bunch of other celebrities? Look how much that helped her.

Because people obsess over celebrity gossip and attempt to ingratiate themselves to celebrities every chance they get. And given that your average celebrity is closer to a narcissistic sociopath than a normal functioning human being, this only adds fuel to the fire.

1. How do you know it didn't help her?

2. You have a sample size of one.

They have to force their political views on you in order to stay relevant. It's the 'in' thing to do for the Film Actors Guild (fig)

The greatest prestident in recent memory was a celebrity. The current president was a celebrity. You siting one example where it fails doesn't make it any less true.

Again, I'm not saying they should have influenced but they do. Fortunately we still have people that see through the bullshite. But the truth is many people treat comedy news as their main news source and this is nothing new.

You're right, she probably would have lost by a lot more without the help of the moronic Hollywood stars.

A combination of arrogance and high sense of entitlement.

To some people, they do. Our culture is infatuated with celebrity.

Because they bring fans which are votes. And associating with/against a hot politician could mean more viewers for them.
