Well...it depends on what you're talking about. If it's "rights", then yes, they are equal. If you're talking about abilities...lets be honest they're not. Reality matters. If they were equal, test standards for certain topics or jobs would not have to be lowered for them.

Dems, neo libs that is, for decades have embraced relativism and denied the concept of absolutes.
They have promoted relativism in academia, entertainment industry, and the majority of news media outlets as well.
One concept that every college kid has been told in some class for the past at least fifty years is there are no absolutes.
Everything is relative. There is no real right or wrong, and therefore no objective standard for truth.
Truth is what you can get people to believe. That's it.
The ideology behind this push for relativism and specifically denying any concept of absolutes in the institutions of our society, goes back to, and I have written about him several times Herbert Marcuse, the creator of Political Correctness, and others influenced by him. Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Paul Ehrlich, Peter Singer to name just a few.
Because by objective measure ALL Neo-Lib positions would crumble.
"objectivity is a fraud, facts are an invention, and the world around us doesn't exist"
The best description I've read that sums up the state of academia, neo libism that is, and it's from an article written by physicist Alan Sokal, he isn't a neo lib, it was meant satirically, but neo libs didn't know that and fell over themselves thinking their nonsense had been legitimized by a "real" scientist.

To the true progressive liberal truth is relative. The truth the liberal professes today is not necessarily the truth tomorrow. Lends itself to a form of situational ethics. So if truth is relative then lying in certain situations is not only necessary it is deemed good and noble. Since there is no absolute truth.
