Why do Leftists still use the idiotic "Wild West" screech when talking about armed citizen

We constantly hear "If we allow people to carry guns, America will turn into the Wild West".
Um, anyone with a brain knows that the Wild West was much safer than any Democrat run city after dark.
To be truthful, the "Wild West" wouldn't have gladly suffered many of the repeat offender fools we see running wild in the country.

The murder rate in Dodge City was 165 per 100k almost 3x the rate of New Orleans at 59 per 100k.

They had the New Jersey atty general on NPR this AM. One of his points was the safety of people with guns on the subway. Not sure about everyone else's workplace, but my company doesn't let me bring a gun inside the building.....
