I would gladly vote for Trump, DeSantas, or RV.
But I know some people in my family who say they will not vote for Trump but would vote for another Republican candidate.
I won’t vote for Haley, Pence, or Christy so I kind of get it.

Trump didn’t even ASK for funds to build the wall.
He got bent over by big pharma.
Shut the country down over the cold.
Started printing money like a madman.
Planned the Afghanistan withdrawal then 3 years later says we need to go back to get the airport
Maddening!

DeSantis got shite done. I also liked that he aggressively pushed back on the culture war front.
A lot of Republicans have treated “cultural” things as less important than other matters but that hands-off approach is a big contributor to why things are as upside-down batshite as they are.
I love a lot of what Trump got done too but Trump’s Achilles heel imo is I don’t think he does have a good eye for surrounding himself with “the best people”. I’m not convinced he’s going to be any better in that regard.
All that said, and to directly answer your question I don’t think DeSantis has a better chance. Trump’s support is “Yuge” and this nom has long been his to lose. I’ll absolutely support him in the general election.

Because Ron virtually has the same policies as Trump without the baggage. Ron would be able to communicate his policies better (minus the flare) without the petty fights and drama that goes with the left (and middle) deep hatred of Trump and his ego.
So, in summary, Ron would likely provide the same results with less angst for the left, middle, AND the right.

I see no one is reading past the title of the OP.
Why do DeSantis supporters think their candidate can beat the cheat the Dems employed in the 2020 election?
I think most people will honestly admit to election irregularities in 2020. Why do DeSantis supporters think he will overcome this to win in 2024?

Why do Trump supporters think he can? If you really believe this I don’t know why the primary would hold any interest for you at all.

He has little for the msm, the Deep State and Dems to attack.
DJT has a U-Haul full.

This isn’t true when he can’t win a primary against such a terrible candidate Trump.

It's a premise that they had to accept up front in order to justify the entire candidacy. This was swallowed whole 9-12 months ago.
In truth, he has zero path to winning. He cannot carry the Republican support (much less the non Republican support) to defeat Biden.
And, all of that is ignoring your concerns (valid) that there's a possibility of having a fair election.

I am a Republican and want to nominate the candidate that can win. Trump has a ceiling of about 47%, which means he will need a favorable electoral college scenario to win. Desantis & possibly a couple other Republicans are capable of getting to 50%+ once the debates against Biden start. Also, there are multiple pollsters that believe the party that nominates someone other than their current presumed candidate will be the winner.

Because the answer would make it the shortest op ever. If not fixed R will lose - either one so why bother.

They don't. They just want to stop Trump. It doesn't matter that it has destroyed Ron. That is actually a twofer for many of them.
Actually they care about having someone that will Get shite Done. That's what DeSantis is all about. I voted for Trump because he was the best option and up until 2020 he was doing a great job even if he made a few mistakes. Then Covid happened. Now he is pushing 80.
These people are employees and should be treated as such, it's about who can actually accomplish things.
As to the OP he has a great ground organization and is a relentless campaigner. He can communicate extremely well and appeals to the Suburban vote that is the Swing vote that matters most and that Trump has continued to lose, especially Suburban women. Those folks like good governance and low drama. The debate with Newsom will also show how he does going toe to toe with the best communicator the Dems have (he's a scumbag but the guy is smooth as silk and can lie without blinking).
Show me all the polls you like from a year before the election but Trump is going to get destroyed if he is the candidate. It's no coincidence the Media has been ignoring his posts and not talking about the lunacy from folks like Loomer and Stone and showing how old Trump looks and how terrible he sounds. That changes the moment he is the candidate. Hell they will probably put Loomer on Meet the Press and Stone on CNN and make them the face of his campaign.

None of the shady mechanics of the 2020 election were repaired.. None of the officials who used power they didn't have to change election rules were punished in any way.
What's stopping another batch of officials from using powers they don't have to change election rules just before the 2024 election?
^^^. this ^^
Election integrity does not appear to be of importance to the Uniparty…. they’ve got it just the way they want

White suburban women hate Trump more than they hate DeSantis. Outside of cheating, it is all about motivation and turnout.
Does Trump turn out more negative voters in swing states or positive voters? Same goes for DeSantis. I’m not sure if either would have the net positive for white suburban women between those two, but it unfortunately wont be Trump.

Yes...didn't read the fine print.
My answer still stands...with Ron, there will be less people who absolutley refuse to vote for Trump even if they hate Biden or hate the situation in the country; therefore, there will be less need for excessive and unbelievable cheating. In 2016, Trump's results shocked the left so much, that they did not have their cheating ramped up enough to overcome that election.
