Why do DeSantis supporters think Ron has a better chance to win the Presidency than Trump?

In another thread, a link was presented that declared Trump was the the frontrunner to win the Presidency in 2024. There were many comments about The Steal and 2020.

Our friend, Plex 1776, stated:
quote:

None of the shady mechanics of the 2020 election were repaired..

None of the officials who used power they didn't have to change election rules were punished in any way.
What's stopping another batch of officials from using powers they don't have to change election rules just before the 2024 election?

Main issue was...and is, a lack of transparency. Government agencies fight tooth and nail to prevent any form of transparency from happening. Same people who demand we use our real names on social media, are the same ones who clutch their pearls and scream it's wrong to get voter transparency.

And I agree with his statement. My question is this: How can DeSantis supporters, or Haley supporters, or ANYONE who's not a Democrat expect to win?

If the deck is stacked, the Primary process is an exercise in futility, and a waste of time.

DeSantis has a better record when it comes to governing, he's much smarter, more disciplined. He should beat Trump and if the election was a mandate regarding results, he would win. But an election is much more than that.

I don't think anyone anticipated his awful campaign.

He seemed pretty genuine in his Florida gubernatorial races and duties. People like that, and it was his own brand of charisma. For the presidential campaign he has not been very charismatic. Lifter boots don't help, and he seems to have a bad campaign staff. I suspect the staff was built for him by outsiders and they stacked it with idiots that arrived with talking points for the establishment rather than any sort of plan to go after Trump.

Lastly, in the past he appeared to be the exception to the rule regarding behavior and leanings of people that came from the Ivy League. This campaign makes him seem like just another member from that pack of Ivy's that are out to fleece Americans and secure more power for the establishment and DC. His uber pro-Israel stance at the expense of free speech is a total 180 from where he once stood. You can have both, unless you're bending the knee to a powerful pro-Israel lobby that wants more than an even playing field. This has exposed DeSantis.

In summary, for many people I believe he's gone from "Us" to "Them".

I think they were in a few states, like Florida, but they remain in place in key swing states, like PA. The issue in most cases is that the laws were changed by the SoS or some other entity than the state legislature, which, constitutionally, has sole purview over presidential election laws in each state. As you stated, none of this has been addressed, and it was obvious what was going to happen leading up to the 2020 election. Yet the Rs, including the Trump campaign, did, and have done, virtually nothing to counter any of it.

They don't. They just want to stop Trump. It doesn't matter that it has destroyed Ron. That is actually a twofer for many of them.

Yep. In terms of actual accomplishments DeSantis is the best R candidate for president since Reagan.

I would take either of them over the current admin to be honest and I want to see both of them debate.

However, if we get Trump, we only get 4 years and thats it.

At least with DeSantis you could get 8.

Trump is a bigger gift to the left than to the right if he does win.

I just know a Trump win is a guarantee that we get Newsome in 2028 and that will be worse than what we currently have.

I don't want to stop Trump. I want him to be the elder spokesman he is. I want a younger person that has shown the ability to govern. Is that cultist?

For starters, it’s much easier to campaign if you’re not sitting in a prison cell.

He tends to talk policy to those who might consider voting for him. He doesn’t insult them, he tries to bring them along to his way of thinking.

Trump commonly insults people whose actions and opinions I respect, and in so doing insults me.

All the L's R's have taken in elections since 2016

Then why do you care who wins the primary?

Trump lived his policy of making the country as great as he could while largely succeeding.

Trump “made the country great” for a couple of years only in the minds of his fans. He left office after running up a historical debt.
