Why do a LOT of people hate Ted Cruz?

No politician is one of the good guys (not to split hairs, but to always remind people who and what they all are). They're only as good as their actions in office. He's certainly pretty decent on his track record.

Liberals hate him because he is a conservative. A lot of other people hate him because of his mannerisms. Not that complicated. He's a rock solid conservative and intellectual heavyweight though.

He's fun to listen to, but at the same time he needs to be held in check with the rest of Washington. I mean, he is a lawyer. They tend to lie.

I do not believe people hate Cruz. I do believe he has lost a lot of respect. As smart as he is, why he does not do a better job of exposing the corruption, debating the naysayers, is what causes a lot of disrespect for him.

Ted is a constitutionally knowledgeable heavyweight and in general a solid conservative, but I still have a sour taste from his voting to send military aid to Ukraine. Humanitarian aid I understand, but military aid is/was escalation that only further enrages the bear and prolongs the inevitable.
I like Ted for the most part, a lot really. But there's that part of me that despises him for sending money to fund a proxy war with Russia. That vote was the voice of the Uniparty protecting their money laundering state.
Congress stuffs so much pork into these bills and "agreements" so that they can ALL get something they want out of it, and Cruz is a part of that system when he chooses to play the game. Stand-alone legislature needs to become common practice and permanent. Make Congress actually do their fricking jobs or quit and get out of the way for someone who will.

I voted for him. I think he’s about as grounded as you’re going to find in DC, and a staunch Constitutionalist at that.
