Which is more important to you?

Would you support a bipartisan Congressional vote to reject THIS Declaration, IN EXCHANGE for a bipartisan bill that SIGNIFICANTLY reduces the scope of the NEA in both substance and duration of application? Remember that the NEA originally past with only three “no” votes. I don’t think any of the 380+ “yes” votes anticipated the extent to which it would be abused by POTUS of both parties.

We had a pretty civil discussion of that question yesterday.

Why would they be scared of losing if that issue carried Trump to victory?

Because most of them weren't on the Trump train and he was a very polarizing figure within the party. They all assumed that following Trump's policies would cause an automatic L in 2018.

There is always an excuse for the GOP.

Did the House even attempt to pass funding?

Don’t you find it ironic that many of those who took this approach lost in 2018. I do.

What’s the short version?
Not having the required 60 votes in the senate to stop a filibuster

That’s often quoted, but it sure seems it woud have been easier to flip (via pork projects) a few dems to get to 60 than it is to get something pushed through without control or 60 votes.

Yeah, adjusting to change can be difficult and they learned the hard way.

Again, nuclear option. Could have been used but wasn't.
No explanation why not.

Because their masters all want socialism, so they can be overlords and the rest of us can be worker serf monkeys. If/when the democrats retake the WH and Congress, it will be 100% socialism, all the time, no fricks given about 60 votes or re-election.

Good question, OP, if for no other reason than to expose the Trump groupies struggling to portray all of his actions as being genius master strokes.

"They didn't have 60 votes." - frick you. Nuclear option, just like past and future dems.

"Worried about re-election" - frick you. They lost anyway, FOR THE SAME REASON they lost during Bush's presidency. They ran a bunch of JBE-style "military veterans" which gave them bullshite "patriotic" street cred.

And now we have gridlock, that golden time when politicians can pump their bases with "the other guys are big meanies who won't let us..." bullshite, while doing nothing.

And these fricking monkeys fall for it every god damned time.

having better then 50% majority is not the same as having a majority of votes to push through any legislation you want

that plus a full third of rinos were just dimms calling themselves republicans but vote with the dimms nearly 98% of the time
