First, we heard he had 10 or 11 weapons, then 13, then 16, and the last I heard said he had 23 weapons in the room, and many more at home.

The pictures show stacks of magazines for the rifles, and even if he had a couple of different calibers there were enough for dozens of reloads.

I think I've counted at least 4 rifles in the pictures, and my question is, why? What is the need for half a dozen rifles, when you have stacks of full mags? Sure, have a backup. Have a backup for your backup.

Obviously, the guy went full Maxine Waters, but 23 weapons when you can only fire one at a time?

It will all be answered in time. Give them some time to figure it out.

Think he was planning for jams, melted barrels, and other issues. How sturdy are those bump stock or bump triggers? Are they prone to fail?

He was planning this for a long time. He was experimenting, reading on line, trying to get the best weapons. That takes buying and trying out a lot of guns.

Reading this forum, he may have been waiting for other accomplices to show up

I would agree with this. But then, once you have done that, why tote the ones that aren't suitable up to the 32nd floor?

I have a lot of rifles too, mostly nice older hunting type rifles,in different calibers, but I have a couple of AR types too.

Good guns are good investments.
I also have a lot of guitars, and I can only play 1 at a time right?

You don’t need 10 guitars to play one song though.

I think that's a great part of it. My question is why not use an AK platform? If you're just directing fire into a crowd from an elevated position, the AK is a sloppy, cheap, highly modifiable weapon that can chew through even the crappiest of ammo. The AR has such relatively close tolerance that it is more prone to jamming (hence the forward assist being built into the design). Not to mention that 7.62x39 can turn cover into concealment, as they say. I'd assume that's why he used .308 as well.

I have what most would consider an arsenal, certainly liberals would. That's not my point. My point is, I have 2- 30-30's, 2-.270's, and 3- 30-06 deer rifles. But when I go hunting, I bring 2 of them with me.

I'm all for people having as many weapons as they desire, I just don't think it makes any sense to have that many when you are planning what happened in Vegas.

I think his intent was to use as much of the ammunition he brought up to that room. He had camera's set up outside of his room to alert him of approaching law enforcement officers. So its safe to say if they didn't come up when they did he would have fired off more rounds then he did.

You are what’s wrong with America. Guitar reform is needed.

A. String limits. More than 5 on a bass or 7 on an electric? Nope.

B. Proficiency. If you try to buy something with 8 strings and aren’t gonna play metal? Denied. Gonna buy a Les Paul Custom and you strum Smoke on the Water? shite gets taken away from you.

A gun "specialist" that was a former LEO said exactly this. Said excessive firing from a gun causes overheating and malfunctions.

Yeah guilty.

I've been known to bring as many as 4 bicycles with me to a race weekend.

1 is my main bike
2 is my backup bike in case of catastrophic failure on my main bike
3 is my time trial bike for that race
4 is my beater/crit bike because you always crash in crits and I'm not going to ruin one of my good bikes in a race in not going to win

If I had to guess, he had them all pre-loaded......and likely set up between his two firing points to reduce re-loading and set-up time.

It does seem a shade inefficient honestly. But, then again. My brain isn't wired for the "how do I kill as many concert goers as possible" line of thought.
