Why did the cops give up the advantage

in the Kenosha video. There were four cops and they had this dude. Four against one ....way before he was ostensibly going for a gun. They let this guy get moving and followed him around the car, they could have subdued him before he ever opens the car door and no one dies....and all the cops get to go home that night.

Fear. Fear of them having to get hands on with the guy and it looking bad so they hesitated. That hesitation made everything 10 times worse

They have been instructed to behave like toothless cops in a British mystery. Reason with the perp.

This is what gets police officers killed. This is quickly becoming a big problem for police in most major cities.

I get it on the fear thing. But now there is a dead a-hole and at least 2 cops who will probably lose their jobs over this. Whereas if they had been a little rough with the guy, they would have filled out paperwork and
gone home
Still don't get why they let that guy walk around the car while they had their weapons drawn....a British cop would have at least taken out his baton and bashed you.

same reason they shot him, bc they're too scared for that line of work

They told him not to move. They continued to warn him. They had guns on him. The guy knew what was going to happen. Why should the cops subdue him? I am tired of hearing the cops should have done this and the cops should have done that. Maybe this asshat should have listened and complied.
Maybe when a criminal decides he wants to turn an interaction with police into a lethal showdown the cops should oblige, put one in his head, and we all get on with our lives knowing the world is now a little bit cleaner.
The cops are not responsible for protecting criminals from their own dumbass decisions. If some idiot pulls a weapon or tries to go for a weapon, they know the outcome. The police did their job correctly in this case.

They feel their hands are tied given the current climate. If they were rough with him they would have been fired just the same this is happening regularly already.
Appeasement tactics don’t work and this will become more common. Things will be allowed to progress into life and death struggles with only the winner walking away.

They wanted a reason to kill him, obviously.
Police are not infallible and some are just plain bad. They do not have effective training, clearly, across most of the country, but especially in these large urban areas.

Has it been established he was going for a gun? I saw the video but haven’t read up on it past there. And did they see a gun or just assumed there was one?

Pause and zoom in on the video as he’s making his way around the hood. Watch the left hand
I don’t know that it was a gun, but it looks like it could be. There is probably a reason their guns were drawn in the first place. He could have had one and wasn’t threatening with it, causing them to hesitate as he walks off. They could have seen one on the other side of the car, causing them to draw there guns and fire when he got to it after walking around...
No one knows. people speculating cops are out to assassinate black men in broad daylight around people that likely have cameras is beyond stupid. Should probably wait to see what comes out

Good morning everyone.
Seems seawolf06 was the first today to provide everyone with their daily allowance of crap.

Do you go to work each day with concerns over a felony indictment and losing your family for making life and death split second decisions? Oh, and for $40,000 / year?

no, the cops should have used their training. They could have taken this asshat down before he even makes the turn to the driver side
Posted on 8/24/20 at 8:45 am to MeatCleaverWeaver
Could it be they saw the gun in his waistband? Could it be that when he turned his back to go the the door that the moment presented a possibility of a turn and fire situation? Could it be that the deceased hedged his bets that in today’s climate he had great odds of jumping in his car and driving away because the cops would not fire on him?
Who knows?
Who knows?

They had this guy on the ground at the beginning of the video. If he had a weapon, the cops would already had it and removed it from him. They were drawn on him from the the time he starts moving on the passenger side. Why were the other cops just standing around on the passenger side? Why did they not move around the rear of the car?

If you think their job is so straightforward and easy, I suggest you "man up" and join the force. I suspect you don't have the balls to do it

Outside of speed trap towns LEOs make far more than 40k a year. 50k starting out in southern cities.. not bad for a highschool diploma.

So don't ask questions? Don't ask why they let a situation get out of control? Because they are paid to keep the situation from getting out of hand.....a situation they had control of, a situation that they ostensibly relinquished control of. If they had the guy down before, they knew the guy had no gun....or they would have rock and rolled sooner.
What? You can't ask questions of the police until you have THEIR version? Talk about sheep behavior
