DOJ must have evidence he was protesting (not reporting), or maybe something with trespassing in a church where the media doesn’t have a “right” to cover if they aren’t invited.
The DoJ is arguing that he went beyond journalism by approaching and questioning the pastor instead of simply observing. And that the mere act of entering the church was interfering with parishioners 1st amendment rights to practice their worship. They are also saying that he conspired with the other protestors to deprive those parishioners their first amendment rights to practice their worship.
He could be looking at up to 11 years in prison.

But if you don't arrest him it opens the doors for other lunatics to start attacking churches.

Maybe but I felt good about it.

Retards stormed another church yesterday.

They overrided a Judge with a Grande Jury, so at least there’s something there, but he will get his day in court to plead that it was ok to break the law, cause I’m a journalist

Irrational people will make him a martyr. Just like Floyd, Pretti, and Good. That is what makes takes like this irrelevant. The real move here is to go scorched earth and arrest every one of these criminals. The irrational people will just manufacture something different to hitch their wagons to.

I don’t care about the optics. By interrupting a church service, the protesters impeded the constitutional rights of churchgoers to practice their religion freely.
When Don Lemon publicly praised that disruption, he ceased acting as a journalist and instead became an advocate for unlawful conduct. This is thus NOT a 1st Amendment issue but appears instead to be a coordinated effort by Lemon to violate the peaceful assembly rights of other U.S. citizens.

He's not a hero it will be a slap on the list he has zero clout. I understand what you are saying but he was already a attention whore this is not going to add clicks or build his fledgling career.

This is the truth. The mere act of entering the church while services were ongoing with any intention other than joining the service is a violation of those parishioners rights.
Lemon will be found guilty. And probably for the conspiracy charge too.

BS. Just hang the convicted felon label on him and I’ll be happy.

I’m all for arrests! But you have to pick arrests that you feel confident will lead to a conviction. He is not going to be convicted!
He is probably literally on his knees right now thanking God for being arrested. This is the single boost to his miserable fricking career that has ever happened!

Yes he will be. Because he was in clear violation of the fricking law. There is no if, ands, or buts about it.

Anyone doing what he did should be arrested. Don't mess with places of worshipping. It's why we are here.

If Don Lemon representing progressives swings things in their favor nationally in some epic way -- did we really have any shot to keep functioning as a society, anyway?

He might be cooked. “Forcefully” interviewing someone in the middle of service is 100% disruptive to the service.
He’s got some problems.
Posted on 1/30/26 at 9:59 am to BobBoucher
Right. And the pastor asked him to leave. He did not. He was also antagonistic towards the pastor, asking questions like, "do you think Jesus would have supported ICE?"
He was 100% disrupting the service. He deprived those parishioners their 1st amendment right to worship their God freely.
