I actually think EVERYONE needs to pay into the treasury.
We need a National Sales Tax or we need to get rid of ALL deductions including standard deduction , SALT deductions and the child tax credit.
We only have 53% of our country paying Federal Income Taxes.
When the other 47% starts paying their fair share you might have a legitimate point.

Just because the middle class and upper-middle class don’t see this as a class war doesn’t mean it’s not. And right now the Left has the Right thinking it’s virtuous/manly to reject the notion that that’s what’s actually going on.

I would question a couple of those but for the sake of argument let's say that's accurate. It's still a very, very small percentage of the population. And the larger argument I'd make is that a good percentage of those people aren't true leftists in the ideological sense, they just vote for whatever lines their pockets. The idea of leftist policy sounds good but they're not willing to actually eat the rich because they're the rich. That French interview with Will Smith when the guy is talking about a 75% tax rate is a perfect example.
