It is a slippery slope, but because it is winds up being a reason we don’t even discuss it. There has to be an accepted way to identify people with those kind of diagnoses for the purpose of owning a gun.
What would you say,if the evaluations, prevented a higher % of minorities from buying guns, than it does whites?

The government does have the power to restrict and even deny gun ownership to people, but it has to show that these people have engaged in behavior that makes weapons dangerous in their hands.
And how do you do this when you can't look at people's medical records and make that determination? See the problem, no one wants the government snooping through their medical records and instead defer to hiding amongst the multitudes that their kids school won't ever be the one that gets shot up.

That bill he repealed was also repudiated by the ACLU

If the rules are objectively written and that winds up being the case, then minorities lose their gun and we then have a discussion why minorities are more prone to mental health issues.

Then these people should get due process, not simply thrown on a list.
Due process in the form of what?

No, that's not what it said. It said people that couldn't manage their benefits without the help of a third party.

How would the government know?
Are you arguing they should be able to see people's medical records?

The problem is that the government never has the people's interest in mind. They always seek control. As we've seen in the unraveling Russia investigation, they always use the power of their "sacred institutions" for nefarious purposes. Giving them the ability to void your rights, justified or not, essentially makes the 2A irrelevant and toothless.

Yeah well it’s cold so HA!

An adjudicated ruling that disqualifies you from owning a gun. Just like a felony conviction.

So LITERALLY, the best that can be gotten from this thread is to just HOPE that your kids school or my kids school never winds up being the one that got shot up? Is that the gist of this?

Less people getting treated will make things?worse, not better. Normal anxiety and depression should not disqalufy anyone. Its a terrible idea

If you can't handle your finances or are under the care of a third party for managing your day to day affairs, you think that person should still be able to own a gun?

Fear. Mostly of their own shadows.

You LITERALLY haven't been reading any of this. My God, why can't you people have a rational conversation?
