You can't even answer my fricking question. I don't kiss Putin's arse. I am just trying to figure out why I am supposed to hate him and his country and the people who live in his country. If you ask me, it's a legit question to ask.

Just because I ask a question about a dictator, doesn't mean I like to suck his dick like you do with your Louisiana "baws" Mike Johnson and Clay Higgins.

Are you stupid and didn't realize the USSR (reason for NATO) no longer exists?

NATO exists because its member countries unanimously want it to exist.

My point is, I believe a majority of Americans no longer support our involvement in NATO

The only recent polling I can find on the issue completely disagrees with your opinion. A February Gallup poll cited less than 15% of Americans support withdrawing from NATO.

Why call me stupid?

I didn’t. I asked that surely you aren’t that stupid enough to believe that American foreign policy should be conducted by referendum on the whims of the population.

Because ancient boomers just can’t get over the Cold War. Seriously, that’s the answer. That generation of politicians had the chance to bring Russia into our orbit and we told them to frick the frick off.

Spot on. Every single neocon cuck on the OT thread fits this to a T (and in my opinion the guys who served in the GHWB boondoggle may as well be boomers).

So I assume you also oppose Obama/Clinton/Biden for their role in directly harming Russia by helping overthrow the legitimately elected Ukraine government in 2014?

Because, to be fair, there is nothing really more damaging to a democracy than completely overthrowing it.

Many of us grew up during the Cold War. Russia was a communist country and communism is evil. Now that half of our country's elected leaders are strong proponents of a communist agenda, I am more concerned about the threat in our own country.

Oh, I can answer it, but you're too dumb to understand it.

No one asked you and no, it's not. It's a stupid question. It's a question only a brain-damaged alcoholic would ask.

More evidence of ignorance on your part. You're really outing yourself today in this thread.

Just curious why I am told to hate Putin and Russia

70 yrs of Soviet Russia, a cold war, and we've "hated" them, only to have Reagan tell Gorby to 'tear down this wall'.

Even as his own State Dept. tried to remove that line from his own speech. 2 yrs later, the Berlin Wall fell.

2012 - Mitt Romney mentions Russia, and Obama's response? "The 80's called and they want their foreign policy back".

2016 - Suddently it's Russia Russia Russia with Hillary and it's been all 'Russian tradecraft' and 'Russian assets' ever since.

Weird, weird.

It pains me to say it but I dislike my own president much more than Putin. The Biden regime's evil makes Putin look like an amateur.

I agree to a point but we have also tried to damage Russia and other countries, not because of Freedom but because of Oil,Gas,Coal,Gold, and Pipe Lines. We tried to replace Syrian leader because of a pipeline we did not want built. We backed ISIS as a proxy to fight Syria, so I don't think we are the good guys at all. I believe the West wants to control Russian energy resoures because if they can't countries like China and India will will challenge or even the replace the west as the biggest power holders in the world. To me both the USA and EU are screwed, they have moved most of the blue collar jobs overseas, our leaders can't tell you what a woman is, the EPA is going to kill the car companies, and Ukraine is losing this war and the West cannot deal with it, they thought Russia would collapse due to sanctions that back fired big time and take over Russian resources, what a joke our leaders are.

I generally don't like dictators that shell civilian apartment buildings. There are a few hundred thousand people dead because of Putin. I understand everyone's legitimate complaints about U.S. tax dollars going to Ukraine and that Ukraine is a corrupt shithole, but let's not pretend that Putin is somehow virtuous.

I'll rephrase, I think NATO fulfilled it's purpose and I don't support MY tax dollars being used to fund it. Our government and tax dollars have plenty of work to be done here, in America, where we live. Rather than instigating war with a nuclear armed country.
I do believe most Americans support this also. NATO is main cause and instigation of this proxy war in Ukraine.

You must know nothing about Putin.

Do some research, then come back.

How about you just flex your Putin expertise muscle and tell us what we should know and believe on the matter.

Putin has remained poised and logical in the face of evil.

Yet MSM claim he is a deranged Hitler-esque loose-cannon, who wants nuclear war and global domination.

If we use 9/11 and 10/7 as precedent, Russia are now free to invade or bomb any country they wish.

However, Putin does not appear to be taking the cheese. He recognizes he is being provoked by the West, in an attempt to justify more spending for Ukraine, or worse, direct US/NATO intervention, and thus full-scale WW3.

If Putin retaliates in kind, the Deep State will get the global conflict they desire, in the hopes they can reestablish their control amidst the chaos.

Putin is keen to their plan. I don’t foresee any wild escalations, but I would not be surprised to see some “decision-making centers” being on the receiving end of a few Kinzhals in the not so distant future.

Putin knows the gravity of the situation and he will not risk his position out of emotion.
